Not a Pretty Picture

Dear Reader,

Nope, it’s not a pretty picture. I prefer pretty pictures, but sometimes reality is not pretty. In the wee hours of Friday morning, we woke up to a roaring fire in our garage.

Nobody was hurt, and the house itself did not catch fire.

But the garage and all its contents were completely destroyed. It can happen quickly, these disasters. Lucky for us, firefighters were quickly on the scene and successfully contained the fire within about 30 minutes.

An incomplete gratitude list:
No one was hurt.
Our house did not catch fire.
Neighbors who stay up late—and noticed the fire and called 911.
Neighbors who stood by us, physically, emotionally and practically.
Good insurance, albeit with a high deductible.
A detached garage, leaving enough distance from the fire to protect the house.

Amazing family and friends—loving, supportive, generous.

Recommendations:
Put a smoke detector in your garage.
I’m assuming you already have working smoke detectors in your home!
Enjoy as much as you can the people, places and things in your life.
Do some Feldenkrais. You’re not surprised I said that, right?
It’s a balm to your body and your spirit, and we all need that.

Life—and work—move on. Thankfully, I love this work and this life!

Tuesday is the day for our weekly online Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lesson. Not only is it a balm, it’s also Free/Pay as You Wish.

If you’d like to work with me privately, you can Book an Appointment, or reply to this email and let me know what interests you.

By the way, I’m doing well. Occasionally feeling a bit stunned, but mostly overwhelmed with gratitude and a sense of being oh so lucky.

Have all the fun you can—and be safe!
