Delight

Dear Reader,
Life isn’t always easy, y’all. But you know that, right? And yet, there are so many sources of delight. No matter what’s going on, chances are we can find moments of delight.
The other day, my husband and I drove way out to the west part of town, to Nelson’s Water Gardens. We came home with a purple and white water lily to place in the little pond my friend, Mary and I dug many years ago. Supposedly, this particular lily can tolerate partial shade. Truth be told, this little pond is mostly in full shade, but I couldn’t resist taking a chance.
Delighted—and somewhat surprised by how delighted I am—I check on it at least two or three times a day. So far, it seems pretty happy, and today there’s even a fresh bloom standing above the foliage.
What’s delightful in your world today?
Here’s what’s on the schedule:
Our weekly online Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lesson is midday on Tuesdays and it’s Free/Pay As You Wish. Most of the lessons are lying on your back, doing easy, gentle movements that create better mobility and ease.
Felting Tiny Vessels is an in-person workshop at the Jung Center of Houston, on Friday afternoon, September 12. The magic of felt-making is that you can take some soft Merino wool fibers and transform them into little bowls or bags to held small treasures or big ideas. No experience or talent required. Bring some curiosity and willingness to play.
Breathing Room: A Feldenkrais Mini-retreat is an opportunity to experience this Feldenkrais stuff I’m been talking about. Simple movements to expand the ribs, making breathing—and so much else—easier.
Have all the fun you can—and as much delight as possible!
