Slowing Way Down

Dear Reader,

Slowing way down. I’m old enough that time seems to go by way too fast. In Feldenkrais lessons, I’m often reminded that no matter how slowly I move, I could always move a little more gently.

As the years go by more and more quickly, I think I’d like to stop the clock for a while and catch my breath.

And then babies show up in my life. Twin grandchildren to be specific. Happily, I get to spend some days and nights with them. Snuggles, diapers, dishes, laundry, rocking. You get the picture.

Suddenly—or maybe it’s slowly—the things that felt so urgent fade into the background. I’m guessing my to do list will show up in big, bold letters sometime soon—probably too soon.

In the meantime, connecting with real people, in real time, in real life seems like the most important thing. Even when it’s mundane. Laundry, dishes, cooking, rocking. Mundane doesn’t mean it’s unimportant. It’s just part of life.

The to do list has some important things on it. But they can wait. They’re gonna be there, whether I like it or not. So, in the meantime, I’m doing my best to enjoy the snuggles.

If you’d like to slow down a bit, to pay attention to yourself, to what’s important to you, here are some ways we might work together—in person or online.

Our weekly online Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lesson is on Tuesdays at 11:30 am (Central Time) and it’s still Free/Pay as You Wish.

For an in-person experience, I’m offering Lift Your Heart: A Feldenkrais Mini-Retreat on Saturday afternoon, February 28, at the Jung Center of Houston.

If you’d like to work with me privately, in person or online—Feldenkrais, coaching or felt-making—you can Book an Appointment or reply to this email and let me know what you’re interested in.
