Immersion

Dear Reader,

In a world full of distractions, immersion can be so refreshing. I tend to like distractions, otherwise known as bright and shiny objects. I almost always have a handful of books that I’m reading, at least two or three knitting projects, and more than a few podcasts I like to follow.

It’s partly because I’m curious about a lot of things, and I like to make stuff, learn new things, and “be productive.”

Immersion feels like something different. This morning I taught a felt-making workshop for a small group. This afternoon I gave a private Feldenkrais lesson. On the surface, completely different experiences. One thing that they had in common, was that the rest of the world went away. In each session, my clients and I were immersed in what we were doing, in paying attention to one another, learning new things—and having fun.

From both of these sessions, I came away feeling nourished and satisfied. I hope they did too.

Now might be a good time to invite an immersive experience. Preferably one that satisfies curiosity or a need for connection—connection with others or with your own self. You’ll probably learn something new about your self and your world. And maybe even have some fun along the way.

Our weekly, online Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lesson is a refreshing experience of immersion, and it’s still Free/Pay as You Wish.

And if you’d like to know more or schedule a private session, you can Book an Appointment or reply to this email to let me know what you’re interested in.

Have all the fun you can!
