Studio Time

Dear Reader,
I recently saw one of my favorite people, and I was lucky enough to see her in person. It has been a few years since the last time I saw her. But this last weekend, I got to see her in person, hug her and look into her eyes. Ahh. What a relief. I didn’t know until I saw her how much it would mean.
I’ve known her for years, and she’s one of those people that I feel privileged to know, much less to consider her a dear friend.
We spent just a few minutes in her studio, and it was magical. No matter what’s been happening—and it’s been a lot—going to the studio is her happy place. Surrounded by art material, books, tools, pictures, and the beginnings of who knows how many projects, her eyes lit up and she started talking about some of her ideas.
It’s a pleasure to be in the presence of someone so lively, creative, and curious. Always ready for another adventure, another discovery, and another story.
I’m back home now, and if you’ll excuse me, I think I better go to my studio and make stuff!
By the way, if you’d like to “make some stuff” with me, mark your calendars for Saturday, December 3. I’ll be teaching an intro to the Magic of Feltmaking at the Jung Center of Houston.
