Really a Weaver?

Dear Reader,
A few days ago, I helped sort through a weaver’s studio. She was a friend and mentor, and she even had a weaving shop in her home. So many memories of good conversations, gracious hospitality and wise guidance came bubbling up. Lately, I’ve been more focused on knitting, sewing—and, of course, Feldenkrais and coaching and felt making. In other words, I haven’t done much weaving for a while. Can I still call myself a weaver?
Today, after dealing with piles of paperwork and tedious phone calls, I spent a few minutes doing some weaving. Ah, what a relief! It may or may not have taken some moments to figure out where I was in the process, but I figured it out and did some weaving. So far, I can still call myself a weaver!
We’ve entered the holiday season, and as I look around me, I see many of my favorite people struggling with some of life’s difficulties—illness, death, financial struggles, etc. And all those emails and ads that say, “Time is running out!” They’re referring to the sales and discounts that have become so ubiquitous during this season. But it’s an urgent, challenging reminder that time is indeed precious.
You’ve heard it before, but I’ll say it again. Hug the ones you love; tell them that you love them. Do the things you love to do. And, of course, have all the fun you can!
Our Tuesday online Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lesson continues through December 19. No classes on December 26 and January 2.
Just for fun, I’m offering one more Tiny Felt Vessels in-person class this year. It will be here in the Houston area on Saturday, December 16. Mark your calendar and watch for details.
