Dear Reader,

As my friend and I settled in to work on her sewing project, she commented that I was doing too much. What should I give up? Her sewing project? Nah. It’s something deeply important to her, and I’m enjoying sharing a bit of my sewing expertise.

What I’m also not giving up is a lot of driving on Texas highways. Every spring we look for the bluebonnets along the roadside. Some years, a field of these flowers looks like a lake off in the distance. Not so much this year. But the highway I’ve been driving most recently is filled with fresh green grasses, and intense yellow, orange, and occasionally purple flowers. One little road has dozens of prickly pear cacti, full of yellow blooms.

It’s worth noticing. Sometimes it’s just one or two blooms here or there. Sometimes it’s an intense display of mother nature’s brilliant work.

Whether we’re preoccupied by our own individual challenges, or those of the folks we care about, or big concerns about the world in general, it’s worth pausing to notice the little things. A baby’s smile. Cloud formations as a storm approaches. The face of the person who serves our coffee. The way our feet support our whole body as we move from place to place.

Notice what you notice—and take a moment to appreciate some of the little things. No matter what else is going on, the little things can make life at least a little better—moment by moment. I’d love to hear about the little things you notice and value.

Our weekly online Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lesson is all about noticing. And it surely makes things better. It’s Free/Pay as You Wish.

If you’d like to work with me privately, in person or online—Feldenkrais, coaching or felt-making—you can Book an Appointment or reply to this email and let me know what you’re interested in.

Have all the fun you can!
