Losses nonetheless. Our bodies reflect these losses in the way we hold ourselves; and that in turn affects our mood and our thinking. This four-week Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement@ course will help you lift your heart. By strengthening the spine, softening the ribs and sternum you can stand up taller, make room for your heart to expand, and lift yourself towards healing and resilience.

    Enclosed within the rib cage, our hearts are protected by a complex structure of bone, muscle, cartilage, and other tissue. In an extreme version, protection can become locked in or locked down, immobile. From the Heart, February’s Midweek Moves, will focus on making that rib basket softer and more flexible. When the ribs are not only strong, but also resilient, the heart and lungs can expand more easily, and we can breathe. We can breathe and move with greater ease and resilience—moving from the heart.
