As the days get shorter and the nights get longer, our bodies beckon us toward slowing down, perhaps even hibernation. Yet our culture encourages a frenetic level of activity—shopping, sharing, eating, decorating, celebrating. How might we reconcile these demands on ourselves?
Gika Rector invites you to a short series of sessions to explore the possibility of bringing joy to the table. Holidays always have a bit of melancholy. We miss the ones we miss; we worry about the ones with problems; we want to get it all just right—at least for a moment. And we yearn for the sparkle that the season seems to promise.
Let’s invite light and joy into our hearts and our holidays.
The series consists of two 90-minute small-group sessions and one 90-minute private session. Each session will include conversation, contemplation, and movement.
Classes are suitable for almost all fitness levels. Willingness to lie on the floor, and an interest in moving more easily are all you need.
