The human spine was made to twist and turn, allowing us to move, explore and connect with our environment. As babies, we have extraordinary flexibility and gradually learn to control and refine the many possibilities for maneuvering the spine. As we mature, we lock in habits that constrain our movements, shortening the spine, and making it less flexible.
Feldenkrais commented that any well organized movement lengthens the spine. In a small-group, online setting, this four-week Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement® course will explore easy twisting and turning—lengthening the spine, and renewing our capacity to move with ease and grace.
Classes are suitable for almost all fitness levels. Willingness to lie on the floor, and an interest in moving more easily are all you need.
