Where to Start?

Dear Reader,

Sometime in the next week, I anticipate that there will be some moments of sitting, but not at home. And when I sit, I like to knit. So, I want to have a knitting project ready to go at a moment’s notice. The problem is that I’m not quite sure where to start. Socks, a sweater, a scarf? I’m finishing up a couple of projects, but they need focused attention, preferably when I’m sitting at a table.

A small project might be easy to carry around with me, but the one that’s drawing my attention is a new sweater. I have some yarn that is different from the kinds of yarns I’ve been working with lately, and that appeals to me. It might not be the most practical, but it’s the one I find myself getting excited about.

I never thought of myself as having any sort of attention deficit disorder, but I do like having a variety of projects, books, activities going on—not quite simultaneously, but in the same vicinity. Maybe it’s not such a bad thing. Maybe it’s just how I am—lots of interests, and an abhorrence of boredom.

How about you? Do you like to focus on one thing at a time or do you like to have your fingers in lots of pies? And when things are finishing up, how do you decide where to start something new? Those seem like good questions to consider as spring emerges.

Some things just keep happening—at least most of the time. This week, we have our usual Tuesday online Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lesson.

Please note that we will not have class on Tuesday, April 2. I’ll be off on an adventure with my daughters. (Thus the need for a carry-along knitting project.)

If you’re interested in doing some private coaching or Feldenkrais sessions, you can Book an Appointment or reply to this email. Please note that I offer free, online consultations if you’d like to know more about how this works.

Whatever you’re starting or finishing, have all the fun you can!
