SUMMARY:Felting a New Story (in Person)

SUMMARY:Cleansing Breath: A Feldenkrais Mini-Retreat (in Person)
DESCRIPTION:What does it mean to move from the heart? This Feldenkrais mini-retreat invites you to explore heart-centered movement of the hands and arms. We do amazing things with our hands: give and receive\, open and close\, hold and let go\, create and destroy. What happens when the movements of our hands come from the center—the heart? The muscles that operate our hands and arms are based deep in our chests. Knowing that\, experiencing that connection\, makes a difference. Our movements can become easier\, stronger\, and more aligned. \nThis class is suitable for almost all fitness levels. Willingness to lie on the floor and an interest in moving more easily are all you need. SUMMARY:Unlocking the Rib Cage—Opening the Heart: A Feldenkrais Mini-Retreat (in Person)
DESCRIPTION:The rib cage is a marvelous thing. It’s a basket-like structure that protects the heart and lungs. It’s strong\, but it’s also surprisingly flexible. For many of us\, this flexibility is diminished. We move our chests as if they were solid blocks of stone. When we discover how to soften this basket of bones\, all kinds of movement get easier. When the rib cage gets unlocked\, we breathe better\, we bend and turn more easily\, and we stand a little taller. \nThis class is suitable for almost all fitness levels. Willingness to lie on the floor\, and an interest in moving more easily are all you need. \nLocation\nThe Jung Center of Houston (in person) \nTuition\n$75 \nRegister\nRegistration is through the Jung Center’s web site. \n\nNotes:\n\nThis program is being offered in person and will not be recorded. \n	\nAll times are CT. SUMMARY:Open Your Mouth: An Exploration of the Mouth\, Tongue\, Lips\, and Jaw (in Person)
DESCRIPTION:Easily taken for granted until we experience pain\, the mouth is an intricate part of our human experience. Before we’re even born\, we begin to move the mouth\, perhaps even sucking the thumb. It’s one of the first things that babies explore. Turning to suckle\, making noises\, bringing the hands to the mouth. For all kinds of reasons\, as we get along in life\, we also tend to restrict the movements of the mouth\, sometimes even clamping it shut. In this Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement workshop\, we’ll explore anew the possibilities inherent in opening the mouth\, moving the tongue\, forming sounds\, and relaxing the jaw. \nThis class is suitable for almost all fitness levels. Willingness to lie on the floor\, and an interest in moving more easily are all you need! \nThis program is being offered IN-PERSON only and will not be recorded. \nRegister early! Programs with four or fewer participants are subject to cancellation\, 48 hours prior to their start. \nThis is the in-person version of this program.
