SUMMARY:The Power of the Pelvis
DESCRIPTION:We humans are shaped a bit like inverted pyramids—built for movement\, more than stability. So how do we manage to clearly stand on our own two feet\, and still move quickly and easily? \nIt’s a joke among Feldenkrais practitioners that “the answer is always the pelvis.” \nThe arch-shaped bones of the human pelvis have been compared to the graceful arches of ancient structures\, supporting massive weights and still allowing for beautiful open spaces. But\, humans also move. The pelvis contains some of the most powerful muscles in our bodies. When we tap into the power and grace of the pelvic bones and muscles\, we find something rather magical \nIn a small group\, online setting\, this four-week Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement® course\, we’ll explore ways to organize the pelvis more elegantly\, finding greater support for the spine\, head and shoulders\, as well as easier ways to mobilize the arms and legs. \nClasses are suitable for almost all fitness levels. Willingness to lie on the floor\, and an interest in moving more easily are all you need. \nSchedule\nFour Thursdays\, May 6\, 13\, 20 and 27\, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. U.S. Central Time \nLocation\nOnline via Zoom \nTuition\n$100 for the four-session course. Please register by May 5. \n\nParticipants will be provided access to an audio recording of each lesson\, in case they need to miss a session or would like to refresh their experience of the lesson.\n\nRegister\n\nAFTER May 6: The start date for this course has passed\, but you may still register for one or more remaining sessions of this course by sending e-mail or by calling or texting 713-213-7643. \nDisclaimer: We assume no responsibility for personal injury or property damage sustained by or through the use of our services or participation in our lessons and workshops.
